The initial offering of colorful, glass Haiti Empowerment beads was released in late February 2010. Lund Trading, in partnership with Trollbeads Denmark, our retailers and sales representatives, will donate $14.00 from every Haiti Empowerment bead purchase to Humanity for Humanity. Lund Trading has promised Habitat for Humanity a minimum donation of $100,000. Habitat for Humanity’s goal is to provide housing solutions to 50,000 low-income Haitian families over the next five years.

In order to include all consumers in this worthy cause, Trollbeads has designed and manufactured Empowerment beads to fit Trollbeads bracelets as well as similar beaded bracelets. It is our hope that the beads’ message of love and support will strengthen all those affected by this disaster.

There is no time like now to begin collecting Trollbeads.  The Green Lilac Armadillo is another fine example of a most desirable bead!  Introduced in the Spring of 2006 as part of a self sustainable business project to help Tibetan refugees.   The project was short lived, thus launching the Tibet set of six beads into the category of some of the most prized beads for collectors.  Included in the series are the Cappuccino, Ornament, Tibet, Kyang, and Takma.

I’ve searched for over a year for this precious bead and finally found one for my collection!  Originally called ‘Wild Earth’ it probably had a name change to ‘Old Earth’ when the current ‘Earth’ bead was brought into the line in the Fall of 2004.  This is a very difficult bead to find, has rarely been seen offered for sale and commands the highest price I’ve ever seen for a retired Trollbead.

‘Old Earth’ is said to have been made from volcanic ash giving this bead an entirely raw and wild look.
